Starta began with an idea from Joanne Walters. She saw that people needed real change, not just promises. Inspired by the struggles of individuals trying to reintegrate into society after incarceration, Joanne envisioned a program that would do more than just talk—a program that would actively equip individuals with the tools they needed to succeed.

Driven by a passion to create meaningful opportunities, Starta quickly evolved from a simple concept into a comprehensive support system. We started with small workshops and grew into a community-driven organization, providing training, resources, and mentorship. Each step of our growth has been guided by our commitment to seeing real improvement in the lives of our participants.
